Holly Butler, Director of Salem Upbeat Music
(Teacher of the Junior Choir and Teen Choir) has been teaching private piano and violin lessons for over 10 years to children/teens/adults of all ages. She is also a 2008 homeschool graduate who has participated in many music opportunities throughout her education including Sound Jubilee Choir, Salem Youth Symphony, Willamette Falls Symphony, Willamette Girl Choir, Festival Chorale Oregon, Corban University Chamber Choir and Chamber Orchestra. Currently, she teaches 30 private students and sings in the Willamette Master Chorus. She enjoys passing on the love and enjoyment of music to her choir students as well as her private students. Outside of music, Holly loves traveling, photography, sports, hiking, spending time with family & friends, and enjoying good food wherever she can!

Miriam Butler (Teacher of the Kids Choir) has been playing and performing with vocals, piano and violin since she was young. Currently, she considers herself incredibly blessed to teach a studio of twenty-five students in the Silverton and Salem area. Miriam has also spent time in Zambia, Africa in 2016 and 2018, both trips providing the opportunity to teach music -- providing a special way to connect with the kids and share the gospel through music, a common language. She has been composing and arranging music for fifteen years and released her album “Sunrise” in 2016. When she isn’t playing music for events, composing or listening to music, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, hiking, almond milk lattes and much more.
